How the Peak Flow Meter works
Using the Peak Flow Meter regularly can help you monitor your asthma, even if you aren’t experiencing any symptoms, by indicating if your airways are restricted or inflamed.
(Handheld device for asthma management)
The Peak Flow Meter can help you monitor your asthma by measuring how fast you are able to breathe out, indicating whether your airways are narrowed.

Make sure you are in a comfortable position, either sitting or standing. Reset your Peak Flow Meter by pulling the counter back as far as it will go to the top near the mouthpiece.
Take the breath and blow into the Meter
Take the deepest breath you can, and blow as hard and fast as you possibly can into the Meter, with your mouth tightly around the mouthpiece.
Repeat 3 times
Repeat this process 3 times in a row, and use the highest of the 3 scores as your final measurement – all 3 scores should be roughly the same.
It’s healthcare without the hassle.
Once complete, your consultation will be reviewed by our clinicians. Most prescriptions are approved the same day.
