Why should I take a sexual performance blood test?

Sexual performance tests can help you understand possible causes of erectile dysfunction and/or low libido by reviewing your hormone levels as well as other impacting health systems (such as heart health and metabolic health). This can help you identify helpful lifestyle changes.

How do you use a home blood test?

Each blood test is easy to use, even if you’ve never used a home blood test kit before. It only takes a small amount of preparation to successfully collect a blood sample and all the equipment you need to do so is included in the kit. A summary of how to use the tests: Wash your hands in warm water for 4 minutes and then dry them. Use the lancet provided to prick your finger and collect a blood sample. Post your sample to our accredited partner laboratory using the prepaid envelope included with your test. How long do blood test results take?

You should receive your blood test results three to five working days after you post your blood samples. You’ll get an email notifying you that your results have arrived in your Numan account, so keep an eye on your inbox so you don’t miss them. Additionally, you’ll receive a written review of your results from one of our clinicians, which you can read alongside your results to help you understand them. Once they’re in your account, you can view your results any time you wish. You can also view them in-app and save your results as a PDF to help you keep track of them (and show them to your GP if need be).

Can I really use a blood test kit without professional supervision?

Yes. The heart health tests are designed to be taken at home without professional supervision. Just follow the instructions in the kit and post your sample back to us using the prepaid envelope.

How do I know which heart health test is right for me?

Does taking a blood sample with a home blood test hurt?

Each test is a finger prick test, so you may feel a small scratch when you use the lancet provided with it to take a blood sample. This is only temporary, and any discomfort should subside swiftly afterwards.

Can the tests diagnose unknown health issues?

The tests can only indicate rather than diagnose health issues. If you’re worried and suspect you might have an underlying health condition, we advise speaking to your regular doctor first. If you get any unexpected or unusual test results, this should also be flagged and discussed in more detail with your doctor.
