Testing for sexual function and fertility with the Core Blood Test

Testing for sexual function and fertility with the Fear Nothing Blood Test

Often called “the male hormone”, testosterone plays a key role in male sexual function and fertility. It helps to maintain a healthy sex drive (libido), normal sperm production, and other important aspects of your health such as the size and strength of your muscles.

However, low testosterone levels can have the opposite effect. It can reduce your sex drive - which can have a big impact on your sexual function (i.e. it may become harder to achieve an erection) - as well as your sperm production and fertility.

If you are experiencing difficulties getting or maintaining an erection, or if you are trying for a baby but are struggling to conceive, you may want to consider taking a Core Blood Test to measure your testosterone levels.

Likewise, you may also want to take a test if you are experiencing other symptoms of low testosterone, such as:

  • Feeling very tired all the time (fatigue).

  • Reduced lean muscle mass.

  • Irritability.

  • Depression.

  • Loss of body hair.

  • Less beard growth.

  • Obesity (being overweight).

Testosterone testing with the Core Blood Test

The Core Blood Test is a finger prick blood test that you can use to measure your testosterone level at home. All you need to do is collect a small blood sample using the equipment provided with your kit, post it free of charge to our accredited partner lab, and you’ll receive your results within 3-5 working days.

There are two types of Core Blood Test: the Core Blood Test and its upgrade, the Complete Blood Test Plus

Core Blood Test: screens for 16 key biomarkers - including testosterone - to give you a clear picture of your current health.

Complete Blood Test: a complete health check up that measures 20 biomarkers - including testosterone - to tell you how well your body and organs are performing. Also includes additional tests for diabetes and anaemia.

Both include a free, written review of your results provided by one of our clinicians. They will help you to understand your results so that you can take the steps needed to improve your testosterone levels if necessary.

What's more, you can also schedule a phone consultation with a Numan GP to discuss your results in more detail, ask any questions you might have, and receive expert advice on how to keep on top of your health.

The numan take

Testosterone is an essential hormone that contributes to normal sexual function and fertility. Low testosterone levels can cause symptoms such as erectile dysfunction, low sperm count, and fatigue, so it’s a good idea to get your testosterone level checked with a test if you are experiencing symptoms of low testosterone.
