Priligy contains the active ingredient dapoxetine, a type of medicine known as an SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor).

Dapoxetine’s job is to increase the activity of serotonin in the nervous system. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that is involved in passing messages between nerve cells. One of its functions is to send the nerve messages that cause ejaculation.

By increasing the activity of serotonin in the nervous system, Priligy helps you to last longer during sex and gives you better control over when you ejaculate.

Priligy can give you more control over when you ejaculate and allow you to last up to three times longer during sex. You should take one tablet, with a large glass of water, one to two hours before you plan on having sex.

Priligy is clinically proven to help men who are diagnosed with premature ejaculation last up to three times longer during sex.

Priligy should be taken no more than once a day, and only before you plan on having sex. It’s a good idea to alternate between using Priligy during sex and having sex without using any medication.

This way you will be able to see if you can achieve better control over when you ejaculate without Priligy's help. Eventually, you should be able to achieve the same level of control both with and without the treatment.

Like most medicines, Priligy can cause potential side effects, although not everyone gets them. Common side effects include:

Headaches; dizziness; feeling ill; anxiety; asthenia; impaired concentration; constipation; diarrhoea; drowsiness; dry mouth; gastrointestinal discomfort; gastrointestinal disorders; hypotension; mood alteration; nausea; paraesthesia; sexual dysfunction; sinus congestion; sleep disorders; sweat changes; syncope; tinnitus; tremors; vasodilation; blurred vision; vomiting; yawning.

In order to minimise the risk of any side effects, stay well hydrated before taking Priligy.

Priligy is not suitable for those who have a history of depression, mania, syncope, bipolar disorder, postural hypotension, significant cardiac disease, or uncontrolled epilepsy. Further information about those who should not take Priligy can be found in the Patient Information Leaflet.

This depends greatly on your personal experience with PE. However, you should experience a noticeable increase in the time it takes to ejaculate.

For example, one study showed that men using Priligy (60mg) were able to last up to three times longer during sex than without it.
