The Wegovy Pill is taken once a day, first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach. Getting the routine right ensures the medication is effectively absorbed by your body.

what you need to know

Your morning routine, in under two minutes

The method

Three steps. Same time, every day.

This medication is made from a peptide, a small, protein-like molecule. Peptides don't usually survive the stomach, so the tablet uses a helper molecule called SNAC, which acts as a temporary shield against stomach acid and lets the medication slip into your bloodstream. But SNAC only works under strict conditions.

The why

The 30 minutes really matter

The Wegovy Pill contains semaglutide, the same active ingredient as the Wegovy injection. Semaglutide is a peptide, which normally breaks down in stomach acid. The tablet uses a carrier called SNAC to protect the molecule and help it cross the stomach lining.

SNAC only works in a narrow window: on an empty stomach, with a small amount of plain water. Anything else (food, coffee, a second sip too soon) and most of the dose passes through unabsorbed.

CLINICAL TIPS

Two things to keep in mind

Storage, and what to do if you forget.

Keep tablets in the blister pack

The packaging protects the medication from moisture, which ruins how well it works. Only pop a tablet out when you’re ready to swallow it. Store it in a dry place like a bedside drawer, not a damp bathroom.

Missed a dose? Don’t double up

Skip it and take your regular dose the next morning. The medication stays in your system for around a week, so a single miss will not set you back. If you miss more than two weeks, talk to your Numan clinician before restarting.

COMMON MISTAKES

Things to avoid

Small habits can quietly cancel out your dose. These are the most common ones.

  • Washing the tablet down with coffee, tea, juice, or fizzy water.

  • Eating breakfast or snacking before the 30 minutes end.

  • Splitting, crushing, or chewing the tablet. It must be swallowed whole.

  • Leaving loose tablets outside the blister pack.

  • Taking other morning medications inside the 30-minute window.

REAL-WORLD EXAMPLE

What it looks like in practice

Most people build the routine around their existing morning habits.

7 am

Wake up and take the tablet straight away. Swallow whole with up to 120ml of plain water.

7:05 am

Shower and get dressed. Use the wait time for anything that doesn't involve eating or drinking.

7:30 am

You're now free to eat, drink coffee, and take any other oral medications. Plainer, lower-fat breakfasts can help with early nausea. Yoghurt, fruit, or toast are good starting points.
