Numan: Product Specific Terms
1. Introduction and General
1.1 These Product Specific Terms (“PST”) apply in addition to Numan’s general Terms of Sale (the “Sale Terms”). Words defined in the Sale Terms have the same meaning here.
1.2 If there is any conflict between these Product Specific Terms and the Sale Terms, these Product Specific Terms apply, but only for the specific product or service they cover.
1.3 Nothing in these Product Specific Terms affects your statutory rights.
1.4 If you experience any side effects, please contact us at [email protected] or through the help section of our app.
2. Diagnostics (Blood Tests)
2.1 In this paragraph, the following terms have these meanings:
(a) "Capillary Test" means an at-home test where you collect a capillary (finger-prick or Tasso) blood sample yourself using a kit we send you (a "Kit") and return it to our partner laboratory in the pre-paid return envelope provided;
(b) "Venous Test" means a test where a venous blood sample is taken from you by a healthcare professional, either at one of our partner clinics (a "Clinic Test") or during a home nurse visit (a "Home Nurse Test"); and
(c) "Blood Test" means either a Capillary Test or a Venous Test.
2.2 Numan offers a range of Blood Tests, which you can buy on their own or as part of a treatment plan. We tell you which collection methods are available for the Blood Test you choose. Each Blood Test includes:
2.2.1 collection of your sample by a Capillary Test, Clinic Test or Home Nurse Test;
2.2.2 laboratory analysis of your sample by our partner laboratory; and
2.2.3 a report of your personalised results and benchmarks.
We may also offer you a consultation with a doctor to discuss your results in more detail. The price of the Blood Test, and any subscription or repeat-testing option, is shown at checkout before you order.
2.3 Our diagnostic laboratory testing partners are UKAS accredited. We may change our partner laboratories from time to time.
2.4 If the sample cannot be tested (for example, it has coagulated or been damaged), we will arrange for a new sample to be collected at no extra cost, by sending you a replacement Kit for a Capillary Test, or by re-booking your Clinic Test or Hone Nurse Test appointment. If the further sample also cannot be tested, we will refund the fee you paid and recommend that you visit your GP for the test.
2.5 Where a Blood Test is supplied on a subscription or repeat-testing basis, you can cancel in line with the Sale Terms. Once a Kit has been dispatched for a Capillary Test, or a Clinic Test or Home Nurse Test appointment has taken place, the cancellation provisions and refund policies of the Sale Terms apply (refer to paragraph 11). If a sample cannot be tested, the replacement and refund process in paragraph 2.4 applies.
2.6 If you have any questions about our Blood Tests, please email [email protected].
3. Weight Loss (WL) Subscription Packages
3.1 Definitions
In this paragraph:
“Commitment Package” means a subscription plan for a fixed period of three (3), six (6) or twelve (12) months, paid in Monthly instalments.
“Monthly” means the recurring billing and medication delivery cycle on your weightloss programme, being a 28-day cycle for injectable treatments and a 30-day cycle for oral treatments (for example, tablets supplied in 30-day blister packs).
“Prepaid Package” means a subscription plan for a fixed period of three (3) or six (6) months, paid upfront.
“Prescription Term” means the 12-month prescription period applicable to Numan’s WL programme.
“Rolling Subscription” means the standard one-month rolling subscription.
“WL Subscription Package” means any of a Rolling Subscription, a Prepaid Package or a Commitment Package.
3.2 Eligibility and scope
3.2.1 WL Subscription Packages are only available to patients with a valid WL prescription and are subject to medical review and approval by Numan's clinicians. A WL Subscription Package may only be used in accordance with your prescribed dose and treatment plan.
3.2.2 Eligibility for a WL Subscription Package is generally assessed against a body mass index (BMI) of 30 kg/m² or above. Where you have one or more of the qualifying weight-related health conditions, our clinicians may also prescribe at a lower BMI threshold, in each case subject to clinical assessment and approval.
3.2.3 Prescribing at the lower BMI threshold described in paragraph 3.2.2 may fall outside the marketing authorisation for the relevant medication ("off-label" use). Where this applies, our clinicians will tell you that your prescription is being issued off-label, explain the reasons for this and the relevant risks and benefits, and obtain your informed consent before issuing the prescription.
3.2.4 The qualifying weight-related health conditions for the purposes of paragraph 3.2.2 are: type 2 diabetes or pre-diabetes; high blood pressure (hypertension); high cholesterol or abnormal blood fats (dyslipidaemia); heart disease or cardiovascular history (including a previous stroke or heart attack); and obstructive sleep apnoea. We may update this list from time to time in line with clinical guidance.
3.3 Verifications for the WL Programme
3.3.1 Alongside the ID checks in the Sale Terms, we need to verify your weight and height (which we use to calculate your BMI) before we can approve WL treatment and we may ask you to verify your weight again during programme. We will tell you what we need during the consultation process.
3.3.2 If you do not comply with our verification steps, or if what you send does not match the information in your online consultation, we may ask for more details, refuse to issue or continue a prescription, or pause or cancel your WL Subscription Package. Any refund in those situations will be handled in accordance with paragraph 3.6 (Cancellation, pause and refunds) and the Sale Terms.
3.4 WL Subscription Packages
3.4.1 Rolling Subscription: The Rolling Subscription (1-month plan) operates such that payment is taken Monthly (as set out in paragraph 3.1) in advance of each medication delivery and continues for the full duration of your 12-month Prescription Term, ending automatically when the Prescription Term concludes. Because billing runs on this cycle rather than by calendar month, the number of payments you will make is shown on the confirmation screen in paragraph 3.9.
3.4.2 Prepaid Packages: You may prepay for three (3) or six (6) months of WL treatment. A discount applies, depending on the Prepaid Package you select. Payment is taken upfront for the full package term and medication is delivered Monthly. Your Prepaid Package is built around the dose schedule agreed with your clinician for the package term, which may include planned dose changes such as titration. If your clinical needs change and your dose may need to be adjusted outside that schedule, please contact [email protected], and we will confirm any resulting change to your treatment or price before it takes effect. Paragraph 3.6 (Cancellation, pause and refunds) sets out what happens, and what you will be charged, if you cancel partway through.
3.4.3 Commitment Packages: By selecting a Commitment Package, you agree to stay subscribed to Numan and pay Monthly instalments for the full length of the Commitment Package. A discount applies, depending on the Commitment Package you select. You cannot pause or cancel during the commitment term, except as set out in paragraph 3.7 (Exemptions to commitment) or where you have a statutory or contractual right to end the contract under the Sale Terms (and paragraph 3.6 sets out the charges that apply if you do end early). At the end of the Commitment Package term you may request a new Commitment Package, which we will provide at our discretion and subject to your continued clinical eligibility. If you do not enter a new Commitment Package, your subscription converts to a Rolling Subscription until the Prescription Term ends. Once the Prescription Term ends a new prescription is required. If your prescribed dose changes during your commitment term, your Commitment Package discount will continue to apply, calculated against the price of your new dose.
3.5 Payment and billing
3.5.1 Rolling Subscription: payment is taken Monthly in advance of each medication delivery.
3.5.2 Prepaid Packages: must be paid in full at the start of the package term, at the agreed preferential rate, before treatment begins.
3.5.3 Commitment Packages: include discounts based on the length of your plan. The applicable discount is shown on our website and at checkout when you sign up.
3.5.4 All charges are calculated on your prescribed dose at the time of purchase and vary depending on the subscription or package you select.
3.6 Cancellation, pause and refunds
3.6.1 Rolling Subscription: cancellable at any time in line with the Sale Terms.
3.6.2 Prepaid Packages: cancellable at any time. Refunds are provided only on a pro-rata basis for undelivered medication.
3.6.3 Commitment Packages (CPs) commits you to the period of time stated at the point of purchase. CPs can renew automatically for the duration of your prescription. Where auto-renewal applies, you can turn it on or off at any time in your account on our Site. Save for auto-renewal, CPs cannot be paused or cancelled during the commitment term, except under paragraph 3.7 (Exemptions to commitment) or where you have a statutory or contractual right to end the contract under the Sale Terms. Where you end a Commitment Package during the commitment term in one of those circumstances, you will still need to pay the Monthly instalment for the billing cycle in which cancellation takes effect, and we may charge you:
(a) an early exit charge of £15 for each undelivered month remaining in your commitment term (that is, each Monthly cycle in the commitment term for which medication has not yet been dispatched); and
(b) a one-off administrative charge of £30.
We will confirm the total amount you owe before payment is taken.
3.7 Exemptions to commitment
3.7.1 We may release you from a Commitment Package early if the circumstances in paragraph 3.7.2 or 3.7.3 apply, which may be updated from time to time, subject to approval by Numan’s clinicians or Customer Care team.
3.7.2 Medical grounds including:
significant side effects: persistent, moderate to severe gastrointestinal side effects (for example nausea, vomiting or diarrhoea) that do not respond to dose adjustment or supportive treatment;
excessive or rapid weight loss;
lack of clinical benefit;
adverse events: serious events including (but not limited to) pancreatitis, gallbladder disease or kidney impairment linked in time to treatment;
mental health deterioration: new or worsening depression, anxiety or suicidal thoughts after starting treatment;
pregnancy or family planning: becoming pregnant, breastfeeding or trying to conceive;
patient-initiated discontinuation: you choose to stop because of intolerable side effects or unacceptable lifestyle impact, confirmed by a Numan clinician;
emergence of a contraindication: including (but not limited to) discovery of a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or MEN2;
allergic reaction or hypersensitivity: including (but not limited to) anaphylaxis or other clinically significant reactions;
achieving a healthy BMI: reaching a clinically appropriate healthy BMI where continuation is no longer required; or
clinical discretion: any other circumstance where continuation is not in your best interest.
We may ask you to provide reasonable supporting evidence (for example, from your GP or another healthcare provider) for a request for early release on any of these medical grounds.
3.7.3 Other grounds. These include moving your residence outside the United Kingdom and Jersey, and extreme circumstances determined together with Numan's clinicians.
3.7.4 Your obligation to tell us. You must promptly tell Numan if you experience any of the symptoms, conditions or circumstances described above, or any other concerns that may affect your suitability for treatment. Delay or inaccurate information may hold up or prevent early release from a Commitment Package and may affect your safety.
3.8 Discounts and promotions
Any new-patient (first-order) discount applies to your first Monthly order only, at the amount then shown at checkout. Commitment Packages and Prepaid Packages cannot be combined with other offers, except (a) the Weight Loss Programme Referral Scheme, the terms of which are set out separately and made available on our Site, and (b) the new-patient discount at checkout. Where more than one applies, discounts are applied in this order: first, any monetary discount (the new-patient discount or a Referral Scheme reward); then the applicable Commitment Package or Prepaid Package percentage, calculated on the reduced price.
3.9 Confirmation
On sign-up you will see a confirmation screen setting out the key parameters of your WL Subscription Package, including: your prescribed dose and whether it is expected to change (for example, through titration); your billing cycle (Monthly, as defined in paragraph 3.1), applicable discounts and the number of payments this involves; your medication delivery cycle. You must confirm acceptance before we process your request.
4. Testosterone Deficiency Treatment
4.1 How it works. Testosterone deficiency treatment works differently from our other treatments: you cannot request the medication directly at the end of the online consultation. Instead, our clinical team will review your responses and continue to assess whether treatment is suitable. As part of that, we may ask you to complete a Capillary Test and/or Venous Test (each as defined in paragraph 2) at regular intervals and to attend home nurse visits, clinic visits or a doctor consultation. If treatment is suitable, we will issue a prescription in your name and pass it to our partner pharmacy for dispensing.
4.2 Diagnosis and blood tests. Before we can diagnose testosterone deficiency, we need blood test results obtained through Numan. You may already have a recent reading from another provider, which our clinicians may take into account, but at least one of the blood test readings we rely on must be carried out through Numan by a Venous Test - either a Clinic Test or a Home Nurse Test, in each case booked through the Numan Site. Our clinicians assess your Blood Test results together with the health and lifestyle information you provide in your consultation, in line with our clinical guidelines and standard operating procedures, and we may arrange a doctor consultation to discuss your results and treatment options. We will only prescribe Testosterone eDeficiency Treatment where our clinicians determine that you have testosterone deficiency. If they do not, we may provide general clinical advice but will not prescribe testosterone replacement therapy.
4.3 Blood test refund. If you go on to start testosterone deficiency treatment with Numan, we may refund the cost of your blood test, subject to the eligibility conditions we tell you about at the time.
4.4 We may refuse, pause or cancel treatment if:
(a) you do not follow our clinical advice, including reading the patient information leaflet before starting any treatment;
(b) you do not complete a blood test, including any follow-up blood test, when our clinical team asks;
(c) we consider your condition too high risk or complex to treat (and we may share this with your GP or other healthcare provider in accordance with our Privacy Notice); or
(d) we consider your condition unsuitable for treatment based on our clinical guidelines and standard operating procedures.
4.5 Critical results. If your blood test results, or any part of our clinical assessment, suggest a result that we consider may be critical or harmful to your health, we will contact you and advise you to seek medical attention.
4.6 Sex recorded at birth. During your online consultation for testosterone deficiency treatment, we will ask for the sex recorded on your birth certificate. We ask this because we assess your testosterone levels against sex-based physiological reference ranges. We use your answer only for that clinical assessment and handle your information in accordance with our Privacy Notice.
4.7 Ongoing monitoring. Where you are receiving testosterone deficiency treatment on an ongoing basis, your treatment includes blood tests at regular intervals so that our clinicians can monitor your testosterone levels and your response to treatment. The cost of these monitoring blood tests is included in your treatment charges. If you do not complete a monitoring blood test when our clinical team asks you to, we may pause or stop your treatment in accordance with paragraph 4.4.
4.8 Billing and delivery. Testosterone deficiency treatment is charged monthly. Depending on how your medication is prescribed and dispensed, it may be supplied to you less frequently than monthly (for example, as a single supply covering several months). Paying monthly spreads the cost of your treatment over the period it covers; it does not mean that a separate delivery is made each month. If you cancel, the Sale Terms and this paragraph 4 explain what you have paid for and what, if anything, can be refunded. Once medication has been dispensed refunds and returns are in line with the cancellation provisions and refund policies of the Sale Terms (refer to paragraph 11).
4.9 Cancelling your treatment. Testosterone deficiency treatment is a prescription-only medicine and, for your safety, cannot be cancelled through the app alone. To cancel, please contact us at [email protected] so that we can end your treatment safely. Cancellation is otherwise governed by the Sale Terms.
5. Menopause Programme
5.1 Numan currently offers the following menopause-related support:
5.1.1 Blood Tests: we offer Blood Tests (as defined in paragraph 2) designed for perimenopause and menopause, which are subject to the terms of paragraph 2 (Diagnostics (Blood Tests)).
5.1.2 Supplements: we offer supplements formulated for perimenopause and menopause, which are subject to the terms of paragraph 9 (Supplements).
5.1.3 Clinician discussion during WL consultations: where you hold a WL Subscription Package, our clinicians may discuss menopause-related symptoms with you as part of your weightloss consultation. This discussion is provided for information and clinical context only. It does not amount to a menopause diagnosis or treatment plan, does not include a prescription for HRT or any other menopause medication, and does not create a separate programme, prescription or subscription. Where clinically appropriate, we will recommend that you speak to your GP or another suitably qualified healthcare provider about menopause treatment.
5.2 If we introduce a dedicated menopause consultation, prescription or HRT programme in the future, we will publish updated Product Specific Terms describing its scope, eligibility, pricing, cancellation rights and prescription term before it becomes available.
6. Erectile Dysfunction (ED) Treatment
6.1 Scope. ED treatments are available following an online consultation and clinical assessment. Some ED treatments are prescription-only medicines and some are available over the counter without a prescription. Where a prescription-only medicine is suitable, our clinical team will review your responses, and if treatment is appropriate we will issue a prescription in your name and pass it to our partner pharmacy for dispensing.
6.2 Subscriptions, dose and prescription. Where ED treatment is supplied on a subscription, the length of your prescription, your prescribed dose, how often your medication is delivered and the price depend on the option you choose. These are shown on our website and confirmed at checkout before you place your order. Your subscription is governed by the Sale Terms, including the cancellation provisions in those terms. Where an ED treatment is a prescription-only medicine, we hold your order pending clinical review and only take payment once a prescriber has approved your prescription, as described in the Sale Terms.
6.3 Suitability. We may refuse, pause or cancel treatment if you do not follow our clinical advice (including reading the patient information leaflet before starting any treatment), you do not complete any test or check we ask for, or we consider your condition unsuitable for treatment based on our clinical guidelines and standard operating procedures. Where clinically appropriate, we may recommend that you see your GP or another healthcare provider.
6.4 Cancellation and refunds. Where ED treatment is supplied on a subscription, the cancellation provisions and refund policies of the Sale Terms apply (refer to paragraph 11).
7. Premature Ejaculation (PE) Treatment
7.1 Scope. PE treatments are available following an online consultation and clinical assessment. Some PE treatments are prescription-only medicines and some (such as topical delay products) are available over the counter without a prescription. Where a prescription-only medicine is suitable, our clinical team will review your responses, and if treatment is appropriate we will issue a prescription in your name and pass it to our partner pharmacy for dispensing.
7.2 Suitability. We may refuse, pause or cancel treatment if you do not follow our clinical advice (including reading the patient information leaflet before starting any treatment), you do not complete any test or check we ask for, or we consider your condition unsuitable for treatment based on our clinical guidelines and standard operating procedures.
7.3 Cancellation and refunds. Where PE treatment is supplied, the cancellation provisions of the Sale Terms apply.
8. Hair Loss Treatment
8.1 Scope. Hair loss treatments are available following an online consultation and clinical assessment. Some hair loss treatments are prescription-only medicines and some are available over the counter without a prescription. Where a prescription-only medicine is suitable, our clinical team will review your responses, and if treatment is appropriate we will issue a prescription in your name and pass it to our partner pharmacy for dispensing.
8.2 Suitability. We may refuse, pause or cancel treatment if you do not follow our clinical advice (including reading the patient information leaflet before starting any treatment) or we consider your condition unsuitable for treatment based on our clinical guidelines and standard operating procedures.
8.3 Results. Hair loss treatments do not work for everyone and results vary from person to person. We do not guarantee any particular outcome. Where we offer a money-back guarantee, separate promotional terms will apply and will be made available at the time of the offer.
8.4 Cancellation and refunds. Where hair loss treatment is supplied, the cancellation provisions of the Sale Terms apply.
9. Supplements
9.1 Our Supplements. We offer a range of supplements which may change from time to time. Our supplements are available over the counter, are not prescription-only medicines and do not require a prescription. They are food supplements and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, and they are not a substitute for a balanced diet or medical advice. The supplements currently available, together with their ingredients and usage guidance, are described on our website.
9.2 Subscriptions, dose and prescription. Where supplements are supplied on a subscription, the length of your subscription, how often your supplements are delivered and the price depend on the option you choose. These are shown on our website and confirmed at checkout before you place your order. Your subscription is governed by the Sale Terms, including the cancellation provisions in those terms.
9.3 Cancellation and refunds. Where supplements are supplied, you can cancel in line with the Sale Terms. For health and safety reasons, supplements that have been opened, or where any seal has been broken, cannot be returned for a refund unless they are faulty.
