The Tasso+ device painlessly attaches to your upper arm and uses vacuum-assisted suction with a small lancet to draw blood. The process is quick, easy, and virtually painless, taking just a few minutes.
Step 1: Set up and clean
Wash your hands thoroughly and clean the upper arm with an alcohol swab. Ensure the area is completely dry before proceeding.
Step 2: Assemble the device
Take the Tasso+ device out of the tray and insert the opened blood collection tube into it.
Step 3: Collect the sample
Attach the device to your upper arm and press it firmly until you hear a click. Allow the device to collect blood. Once filled, or after 5 minutes, remove the device.
Routine blood tests are important because they give you valuable information about your body that you can use to take control of your health.
Here’s what taking regular blood tests allows you to do.
Understand what’s going on in your body
Many important health indicators (such as your cholesterol levels and organ function) can only be checked with a blood test. Therefore, it’s important to book a blood test every now and then to get a full and accurate picture of your health. A blood test can tell you how well your body is functioning, as well as what it needs to function at its best. This will help you understand what’s going on in your body so that you can manage your health with greater ease.
Track your health
Routine blood tests allow you to monitor your health over time, which is highly useful if you want to measure the impacts of any lifestyle changes you make. For example, if you start a new diet to lower your cholesterol levels, taking regular blood tests will help you to track your progress. Likewise, if you begin to take a new supplement (e.g. to boost your vitamin D levels), your blood test results will be able to show you if it’s working.
Improve your lifestyle
Blood tests can help you lead a healthier lifestyle by drawing attention to the areas of your health that could be optimised. If your blood test results show that some biomarkers are outside of the normal range, you can make small tweaks to your lifestyle that may help to bring them back to normal.
Get the most effective clinical support
If you take regular blood tests with Numan, it allows our clinical team to give you the best support possible. To give the most effective advice, lifestyle tips, and treatment recommendations, our clinicians need to know as much about your health as they can.
The Tasso+ device typically collects the required blood sample in under 5 minutes.
Your blood test results will be displayed in an easy-to-read format and any readings that aren’t optimal will be highlighted clearly. Your results will also be personally reviewed by a clinician who can offer feedback and advice based on the outcome of your test.
If you have particularly abnormal blood test results, a clinician may contact you to discuss next steps.
Alternatively, if you’d like to have your results explained in more detail regardless of your results, you can pay for a one-to-one phone consultation with a Numan doctor. They'll be able to run you through your results, answer any questions you have, and equip you with the knowledge you need to manage your health more effectively.
Once you’ve completed your test and packaged your blood sample in the prepaid envelope provided with it, you can post it in any UK postbox to send it to the lab free of charge.
Important: make sure you take the test between Monday and Thursday and post your sample the same day. Do not post it on the weekend as this will delay your sample reaching the lab and make it unreadable.
You should receive your blood test results three to five working days after you post your blood samples.
You’ll get an email notifying you that your results have arrived in your Numan account, so keep an eye on your inbox. Additionally, you’ll receive a written review of your results from one of our clinicians, which you can read alongside your results to help you understand them.
Once they’re in your account, you can view your results any time you wish. You can also save your results as a PDF to help you keep track of them (and show them to your GP if need be).
Yes. You can book a private phone consultation with one of our in-house doctors to have your results explained to you and receive advice on how to improve them if necessary.
The doctor will be able to answer any questions you have about your results, how they relate to your overall health, and what you can do to bring them back to normal if any are outside of the normal range.
What’s more, the doctor can also use the answers you gave in your online consultation to give you more personalised feedback. Combining your consultation answers with your blood test results allows them to offer you the most complete guidance, so you can make the most appropriate adjustments to your lifestyle.
Yes. You're free to show the results of your blood test to your GP.
Once your results have been reviewed by our clinicians, they’ll appear in your Numan account for you to keep. You can also download them as a PDF to store them safely on your computer, phone, or tablet.
When you receive your blood test results, a clinician will give you feedback related to your test. They will also use the answers you gave in your online consultation to provide relevant advice that’s tailored to you.
Please note that our clinicians personally review each test, so it may take a few days for their feedback to come through. When it does, you’ll be able to use their guidance to make lifestyle choices that help to optimise your health.
